Freezer Meals – Step 1

This article will show you how to prepare yourself for making and storing several freezer meals. This will save a lot of hassle and backache vs waking up one morning and deciding to make Freezer Meals that afternoon.

I have been working for the past 8 months at your typical day job.  7 months ago, I found out I was pregnant and my body did not handle it well.  As a result, it has been a long, draining, & physically tiring time.  We ate less home cooked meals, the dirt & grime slowly piled up, & many things were neglected.  As my energy slowly regained in early Autumn, I decided I best prep several hearty meals for the upcoming new member would certainly make us tired all over again!

So, after much research; I found my favourite meals that could easily be frozen, contained lots of nutrition, and were easy to prepare now, and prep afterwards! My requirements for Crockpot meals was that the freezer meals, on the day of eating, did not need any extra ingredients! (Besides perhaps a side of rice or pasta)

I made over 70 two-person healthy meals for the upcoming winter season!  I paid a little less than $200 for ALL of the ingredients, and this included sauces & spices which I still have most of in the cupboard! I made the meals on three separate days/evenings, so as to break up the time spent in the kitchen as a 9-month preggo lady 🙂

There are 4 main steps to each of these:
1. Choosing Your recipes
2. Grocery Lists & Shopping
3. Prepping the ingredients
4. Making the meals

Today you can research and pick your recipes.  To use my grocery lists, To-Do lists, and Freezer consumption lists – you should choose the identical recipes as I have.  Sometimes this is easiest for the first go at Freezer Prepping anyway!

Day 1:  Soups & Stews
